Hi, I am the Jive Bunny,
I am 65 years old and have IDC in my left breast; since my birthday in April, I have went through a lumpectomy and node dissection at Women's College Hospital and now it is time for the treatment for my breast cancer at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre in Toronto.
Now we see all our results and appointments online called myUHN and this is my report.
She has seen Dr. Amir and is tentatively scheduled for TC chemotherapy. She has requested Oncotype DX testing.
We recommended adjuvant radiotherapy to the left breast, 42.4 Gy in 16 fractions to decrease her risk of local relapse by about 2/3, starting about a month after completion of chemotherapy. We went over the details of the logistics, rationale, potential benefits and side effects of radiotherapy, including side effects such as fatigue, radiation dermatitis, radiation pneumonitis, rib fracture, small risk of radiation related cardiac morbidity, radiation pneumonitis, and radiation-induced secondary malignancy, as well as permanent breast/skin changes. She is tentatively scheduled to finish chemotherapy around mid-August and therefore I have booked her back to see me on August 23, but I have asked her to contact my office to move that appointment, should there be any delay in chemotherapy. We have also given her some reading information on radiotherapy.
from a Doctor Han on May 31st:
As they say, the cure is worse than the disease, so I am not looking forward to any of these treatments and their side-effects.
So to try and shake off this having cancer business, I have been gambling at Niagara Falls Fallsview Casino to try and win some money to maybe pay for the fever injections for chemotheraphy costing $2,500.00 each injection for 4 chemotheraphy daycare sessions at PMH starting June 14th and ending August 17th...and then the radiation begins in September 2017.
I have been a gambler for over 20 years, starting with my girlfriend Sunila who would take me gambling to different casinos in our vicinity to play blackjack. I would be there all night stranded
playing the slot machines while she gambled. We stopped being friends when she borrowed $1,000.00 from me and never paid it back. I received a platinum card at Casino Rama and Niagara Falls and would spend all my extra time playing slots, watching concerts and living in Hotel rooms compliments of the house. I did lose, but I won big jackpots as well.
Over the years the slot machines got tighter and became video gaming. I stopped going after my father died for a few years because he thought because of my older sisters that I was a high roller.
But when my best friend was sick with cancer I started gambling again big time; went into debt and never got it back.
On May 26th, I won 4 jackpots and stayed over at the Fallsview hotel at $600.00 a night and the Hilton at $2,000.00 a night , and stayed and played till May 28th; and won in total 7 Jackpots totalling over $3,200.00. I took home the last jackpot worth $562.75 gambling the rest away.
The Fallsview sent me a cheque for $115.00 for the May play and I went back on the night bus on June 3rd to try my luck again. Well I played my favourite triple flaming sevens all night and morning long and won 2 jackpots worth $ 1,155.00, but lost it all trying to win a third Jackpot. I took home $150.00. So I lost $110.00 of my own money that I took out of the Atm. I was too tired to stay and play, so I had the machine closed down for 1.5 hours and went home on the bus.
The slots are on timers and you are just lucky if you win. I keep on saying the devil made me do it.
When I die I will be playing the slots , watching the concerts and staying in the complimentary hotel rooms, I know that for sure. Until then, I will try and eat well on my Old Age Security and CPP.
My housing is geared to income for now. So I am all set to conquer my breast cancer...at a cost with
side-effects of chemotheraphy and radiation treatments. Who knows what life will bring and we must make the most of every moment.
